Sunday morning is my morning to sleep in. Jason takes the Owen shift. This routine was established years ago, when the kids used to wake up at the crack of dawn, which in my book is any time before 7:00 a.m. Since the kids are older, this is less of an issue. Owen usually sleeps until 7:30. But I still enjoy not having to make breakfast and answer the assault of mind-numbing questions of a (darling) four year-old before a strong cup of coffee. Did I mention I'm not a morning person?
I've grown to love my Sunday morning routine, which consists of enjoying a cup of coffee in my comfy chair, with a snuggly blanket, planning the week's meals and formulating the grocery list for shopping later in the day, all while watching CBS Sunday Morning. And Jason always makes a grand breakfast for the kids, with sausage or bacon, hash browns, cereal, and orange juice.
Do you have a self-indulgent routine?
Have a wonderful Sunday!

That sounds nice! I thought about it, and I have realized that I do not have a self-indulgent routine at all! I need to work on that. I get to sleep in marginally on the weekends, since Nate takes Gil, but Nathan isn't too far behind them. Hmmm... I get to make the plans for the weekend?! I love to go to the farmer's market with the family, and to the park, but that's not really relaxing, potentially inspiring, but not relaxing. I guess I have some indulging to do!
ReplyDeleteIndeed you do! I used to thoroughly enjoy an afternoon at Ikea, when we lived in Minneapolis. Any time when I'm allowed to think a single solitary thought without three kids screaming at me or each other, is an ideal moment.
